Oradell is a borough in Bergen County NJ. As of the 2021 census, it had an approximate population of 8,000. What is now Oradell was originally formed as the Borough of Delford in 1894 during the “Boroughitis” that was sweeping Bergen County. 26 municipalities became boroughs in that year alone. In 1920, the borough’s name was officially changed to Oradell. The origin of the name is “ora” meaning “edge” in Latin, and “dell”. Oradell is bordered by the Bergen County municipalities of Dumont, Emerson, Haworth, New Milford, Paramus, and River Edge.
